6 Things Your Pelvic Floor Hates!

6 Things Your Pelvic Floor Wants You to STOP Doing!

Your pelvic floor is tired of your bad habits—and it’s not afraid to let you know! Here are some things that make it cranky, weak, and prone to problems:

1️⃣ Wearing High Heels 24/7 👠 – They look great, but they tilt your pelvis forward, tighten your hip flexors, and mess with your pelvic floor’s stability. Give your feet (and pelvic floor) a break!

2️⃣ Sucking in Your Stomach All Day 🤐 – Holding in your stomach doesn’t give you abs—it just messes with your breathing and pelvic floor function. Relax and let your diaphragm do its job!

3️⃣ Crossing Your Legs Like a Pretzel 🦵🏼 – Sitting this way throws off your pelvic alignment and tightens your muscles unevenly. Change positions often and sit with your feet flat when possible.

4️⃣ Skipping Water Because You “Pee Too Much” 🚱 – Cutting back on water won’t fix bladder leaks—it’ll make your urine super concentrated and irritate your bladder even more! Sip water throughout the day instead.

5️⃣ Holding Your Pee Until You’re About to Explode 💥 – Ignoring your bladder for too long can stretch it out and weaken its function, leading to urgency, leaks, or even infections. Go when you need to—but not “just in case.”

6️⃣ Ignoring Pelvic Pain 🚨 – Pain with sitting, sex, exercise, or even everyday movements is NOT normal. Your pelvic floor is telling you something is wrong—don’t ignore it! A pelvic floor PT can help.

Your pelvic floor works hard for you—treat it right! If you have pain, leaks, or just want to feel stronger, let’s chat.
